Obeying Ants, Page 236
Yukinori Yanagi is now one of my new favorite artist. His outlooks are so real and down to earth, and I feel if more people shared his perspective, the world would be a much much better place. I responded very much to his outlook towards nature, not just the ant. The idea of being neither master of nor revering animals but instead looking at them as equal creatures is so beautiful and incredibly humble. I think it takes an incredible amount of humility as the most advanced creature on the planet to make yourself equal with one of the most overlooked and minute creatures. Although, I too think that the ant is a remarkable creature. Its capabilities to carry weight and act as a single organized whole are astounding and far far beyond the potential of humans. I still feel, even more now than before, that man could take a page from the ants book and learn a few things.
